Pinnacle Paving & Sealing: Quality product, fair price
Pinnacle Paving & Sealing might not always be the cheapest paving company, but according to owner Alan Zahumensky, they are always the best.
“(We) sell a better quality product at a fair price,” Zahumensky said. “It’s so easy to cheat in our industry … We’re a reputable, trustworthy company.”
Pinnacle Paving & Sealing specializes in the repair and replacement of blacktop and concrete driveways and commercial parking lots.
The shop opened at 793 Round Bottom Road in Milford in 2006, but Zahumensky, who lives in Mt. Washington, has been in the business for 17 years.
Pinnacle Paving & Sealing employs two full-time sales representatives and an office manager. All the pavers are seasoned professionals and all work is done in-house without the use of sub-contractors.
Zahumensky, 42, said choosing a reputable company is especially important in the paving industry because the contracted work really relies on trust.
“When you go to buy a car or a piece of carpet, you can see it, you can touch it … In our business, we bring material to your house and we install it based on a certain area and a certain thickness,” he said. “Someone could say they are going to put down four inches of gravel and three inches of blacktop and you have to take their word for it. You have to trust them.”
Zahumensky said people often choose a paving company based solely on price without seeing exactly what the contract states. He said some companies will quote lower than Pinnacle Paving & Sealing, but the customer also could be getting less driveway for that amount of money.
“The price is based on how much material we use. Every day we run into people who say our estimate is higher than another company, but are they doing the same work for that money? Probably not,” Zahumensky said.
